Feature and function descriptions

N-sight RMM includes the following features and functions to help you monitor and manage networks, security, and remote access:

Feature or Function Description
Overview dashboard The Overview dashboard displays an overview of your Clients’ monitored workstations, servers, and integrated applications. From this dashboard you can manage checks, deploy scripts and control features.
Device Inventory The Device Inventory enables you to view, filter, and search data for servers and workstations. After you search and filter to display the device lists you need, you can export the data to Microsoft Excel or view the devices pre-filtered in the All Devices view.
Checks Deploy checks on a 24x7 or daily schedule to monitor Windows, Mac or Linux devices and report back on its state. Checks can monitor the status of the system and applications. Configure the system checks and create custom SNMP and script checks.
Alerting Configure the failures that generate an Alert, choose the format, configure Alert handling outside of office hours and whether a notification is sent on problem resolution.
Wall Chart An at-a-glance overview of any server or workstation problems reported by N-sight RMM using visual and audio indicators to highlight when a problem is detected.
Reporting N-sight RMM provides a range of Reporting options, from Client-facing emailed Reports (Executive Summary, Daily, Weekly, Monthly) to the All Devices view generated staff only Reports containing information on the performance of the monitored systems and features.
Monitoring templates Monitoring templates ensure every device is configured to match your specific Check and Automated Task requirements, which reduces setup time and ensures a configuration consistency across devices. Also use templates to update Check and Automated Task configuration on existing devices.
Backup & Recovery A hybrid cloud backup & recovery backup solution, based on Cove Data Protection (Cove). It supports backup and recovery at the file, application or machine level, and protects both physical and virtual machines. The Professional and Documents editions of Backup & Recovery are available for Windows, and the Documents edition is available for Mac.
Patch Management for Windows An effective and efficient solution for Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications on Windows device.
Patch Management for Apple Enables you to update software on your Apple devices.
Managed Antivirus Provides best-in-class protection against Malware and viruses with excellent performance in minimizing false positives and low system overhead to deliver robust, reliable protection with the lowest possible management effort.
Disk Encryption Manager Volume level disk encryption through Managed Antivirus Bitdefender protects your customers' data due to theft or accidental loss, by rendering information on hard drives unreadable to unauthorized users.
Endpoint Detection and Response (Integrated) Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for Windows is an integrated threat management software from SentinelOne. Enabling devices to self-defend and heal themselves by stopping processes, quarantine, fix, and roll back events to keep devices protected. (Login required to view the documentation.)
Asset Tracking The Monitoring Agent runs daily local asset scan uploading this hardware and software information when a change is detected.
Integrated Take Control Connect securely, directly from the All Devices view, to monitored Windows servers or workstations, or Mac workstations. Use Take Control Fast Assist to create attended remote access sessions to unmonitored devices.
Remote Background Management A seamless maintenance experience on the end device that enables you to perform Remote Command Line, Remote Process Control and Remote Service Control actions directly on the target device without interrupting end user work.
User Chat Connect with customers directly using a two-way chat, without having to start an active remote-control session.
Take Control Fast Assist Create attended remote access sessions to unmonitored devices when you have both an N-sight RMM account and a standalone Take Control account. This means you can start sessions for devices not on your N-sight RMM All Devices view and that do not have an N-sight RMM agent installed.
Automation In addition to our system scripts, custom scripts can be authored, uploaded then deployed from the All Devices view as Script Checks or as Automated Tasks for Windows, Linux and Mac computers.
Automation Manager Quickly and easily create and test your own custom Windows scripts using the Automation Manager's intuitive interface, then deploy the scripts from the All Devices view.
Risk Intelligence Quickly and easily perform ongoing risk assessments in IT environments through PCI DSS, Data Breach and Security Scans. Calculate the real-time risk of a data breach and assigning a monetary value to it.
Web Protection Ensure full visibility of end user online activity regardless of their location. Including the websites they have visited, the website category (Adult and Pornography, Hate and Racism, Illegal etc.) and reputation (Trustworthy, Suspicious, High risk etc.) along with the web bandwidth consumed.
Network Discovery Provides complete visibility of all devices attached to the selected network, including when they were first and last seen along with the ability to push install the Windows Agent directly from the All Devices view.
Network Device Monitoring Through Network Device Monitoring you can run Checks against SNMP enabled devices attached to the selected network (including routers, switches, firewalls and printers) that do not support a Monitoring Agent or App. Managed Network Devices that support Secure Shell (SSH) communications can be connected to using and managed using a SSH Connection, launched directly from the All Devices view North-pane.
NetPath Uses advanced probing to detect the network path from a source computer to a destination service. This provides the deep visibility into critical network paths regardless of location: on premises, off premises, or in a hybrid IT environment.
Windows System Tray Application Provides a self-service tool for the end user. The end user can click the System Tray Application icon to select an action from the menu to send an email, take a screen shot of their current screen(s) and save it on their machine, run a local file and open a pre-set webpage.
Real-Time Architecture Benefit from an ultra-responsive, near-real time monitoring platform designed for faster, more proactive service.
