Monitoring disk encryption

View the status of disk encryption on a device using a number of standard facilities within N-able N-central.

All Devices page

On the All Devices page, you can quickly see which devices have Disk Encryption Manager installed. In the Features column, the Security Manager | AV Defender shield icon is enabled and displays a lock in the shield () to indicate encryption is on. Hover your mouse over the icon to see a quick view of the details of the disk encryption.

Services

Disk Encryption Event service

When you enable Disk Encryption Manager, the Disk Encryption Event service displays the information regarding the current status of the Disk Encryption Manager on to the device, and reports issues in real time.

Disk Encryption Manager Status service

The N-able N-central monitoring services provide a summary of the Disk Encryption Manager status for each volume on a device. The Disk Encryption Manager Status service enables you to see the current state of the encrypted disk volume. Monitoring the encryption status enables you to be aware of any issues that a technician can resolve quickly, and ensure the customer's data is secure.

  1. Click ViewsAll Devices and click the name of the device.
  2. Click MonitoringStatus.
  3. Click the Disk Encryption Status service.

Click the tabs to adjust the service configuration. You can add more Disk Encryption Status services to monitor other encrypted volumes.

Reporting

Online reports are built-in, customizable reports in N-able N-central to enable you to extract real-time data about the disk encryption status on devices. Many of the standard reports include information regarding Disk Encryption Manager. To access the reports, click the Reports menu and select from the following:
