Custom device properties

Custom device properties allow you to store and manage device-specific information in N-central. Use these properties to define values that apply to individual devices, including device configuration, operational status, or other technical or business-specific details.

Where device custom properties apply

Device custom properties apply to devices based on the targeting you define when creating the property. You can apply a property to devices based on:

• Device Class: predefined categories of devices.
• Operating System: OS reported by the device to N-central.

Using device custom properties

Device custom properties can be used in filters, rules, and automation workflows to:

• group devices based on specific values.
• target automation to selected devices.
• store values collected or used by automation.

Automation policies can also use device custom properties as inputs or update their values as outputs.
