Add a password custom property for a device

Create a password custom property to store sensitive or hidden values for devices, including keys or credentials for use in automation or other workflows.

Password custom properties cannot be used in filters.

  1. In the left navigation menu, go to Administration > Custom Properties.
  2. Select Add > By Devices >  Password Type.
  3. Enter a descriptive Property Name.
  4. Enter the Default Password. You can change this value at the device level to override the default.

    5. The value is hidden when entered. Select Show Password to verify the value.

  5. Select the Operating Systems and Device Classes the property should apply to.
  6. Select Save.

The custom property is applied to devices based on the selected Operating Systems and Device Classes. You can update the value for individual devices as required.
