Check N-central requirements for N-zo

Before you use N-zo to query product data, confirm that your environment, permissions, and managed devices meet the following requirements.

N-zo is available in supported N-central environments, but the product data available in its responses depends on your permissions and the data reported through the applicable Ecoverse features.

N-zo is not available in N-central for CMMC Compliance environments.

Requirements

Hosted N-central

• Use a valid hosted N-able Login or N-able Login with Entra ID.

On-premises

• N-central 2026.2 or later (release notes).

• Use a valid N-able Login or N-able Login with Entra ID.

• Analytics opt-in to enable Cloud Eventing.

All N-central deployments

• Your role must provide access to N-zo and the asset, vulnerability, or patch data you want to query.

• Managed devices must report the required data through the Modern Agent.

• The Modern Agent must be able to communicate with N-able services.

By default, standard staff roles include the AI View permission and Administrator roles include the AI Management permission. For information about permissions and custom role configuration, see Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles.

Product-data coverage

N-zo responses are based on the data available through the selected MCP and may depend on devices reporting through the Modern Agent and the applicable Ecoverse feature.

If a device does not report the required data, it may be excluded from N-zo results, or the information returned for that device may be incomplete.

A device may remain visible in other N-central views but may not appear in relevant N-zo results if it does not report the required data through the Modern Agent.

Configure security exclusions

Security software that blocks or inspects the Modern Agent can prevent it from installing, operating correctly, or communicating with N-able services. This can cause devices or information to be missing from N-zo results.

Review your antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall, web-monitoring, and traffic-inspection settings. Add the required exclusions or allow-list entries for the Modern Agent and its supporting files.
