General
Common questions about using N-zo.
N-zo is currently only available at the account level. Once enabled, it will become available for all users with N-zo permissions.
N-zo is enabled at the account level. Once enabled, it is available to all users with N-zo permissions. Individual users cannot opt out, but use of N-zo is optional.
The N-zo button is always visible so users can discover the feature. If N-zo is not enabled or the user does not have permission, selecting N-zo opens a "Learn more" experience.
If you see an error when asking N-zo a question, your account may not have the required permissions Ask your administrator to review your N-zo access.
The required setting depends on the product you are using:
-
N-sight RMM: Your role must include the View AI permission under "Settings > Users > Roles & Permissions > AI Management".
-
N-central: Your role must include the Read Only permission under "Administration > User Management > Roles > Ask N-zo".
For more information, refer to the guide section "Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles".
No. N-zo does not perform remediation actions. It does not make changes to devices, systems, or configurations without human oversight and approval.
There is a default monthly limit of 100 credits per technician that resets at the start of each calendar month (00:00 UTC). A credit represents one question from a technician and one response from N-zo.
When you reach your monthly limit, you'll see a message letting you know.
Yes. When you open N-zo in full-screen view, you can access your chat history in the left pane by date, search past conversations, and start a new chat. This makes it easy to return to previous discussions or pick up where you left off.
Yes. When a query is running, the Send button changes to Stop. Select Stop to cancel an in-progress query.
No. Only questions that return a response from N-zo count toward your monthly credit limit. If you stop a question before a response is generated, or there was an internal failure when generating the response, no credits are used.
If N-zo is activated and system Administrator (N-central) or Superuser (N-sight) level roles can access AI Settings, non-admin users may still see errors if they do not have permission to use N-zo.
Confirm that the user is assigned a role with Read-only (N-central) or View AI (N-sight) permission assigned under the Ecoverse Roles & Permissions. Without this permission, users cannot ask questions or interact with N-zo.
For information on roles, visit the section Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles in this guide.
If permissions were enabled or updated recently, changes may not take effect immediately due to propagation delays. Allow time for propagation, then retry the action.
In N-sight, the Manage AI permission allows you to activate N-zo and configure AI settings, but it does not grant permission to use N-zo.
To ask questions and interact with N-zo, your role must also include the View AI permission. Users with Manage AI only can manage settings, but cannot use N-zo unless View AI is also assigned.
For information on roles, visit the section Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles in this guide.
Yes. A user with AI Management permissions can deactivate N-zo at the account level for all users. You can reactivate N-zo at any time and continue using the remaining credits for the current month.
Navigate to Administration > AI Management > AI Settings (N-central) or AI Management > AI Settings (N-sight) to Deactivate N-zo and Activate N-zo.
N-zo activation and AI Settings access
This section covers issues related to accessing AI Settings or activating N-zo.
If you navigate to Administration > AI Management > AI Settings (N-central) or AI Management > AI Settings (N-sight) and see the "Some Error Page Here" error, your browser is serving cached data.
Clear your browser cache, switch to a different browser, or open an incognito or private window, then try again.
N-zo's status is reported in AI Settings.
In N-central, go to Administration > AI Management > AI Settings.
In N-sight, go to AI Management > AI Settings.
If N-zo does not show as activated, an administrator (N-central) or SuperUser (N-sight) with the Manage permission must activate it.
For information on roles, visit the section Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles in this guide.
If errors persist after activation, confirm that the Administrator (N-central) or Superuser (N-central) account has the Manage (N-central) or AI Manage (N-sight) permission assigned under Ecoverse Roles & Permissions. Only users with this permission can access and manage AI Settings.
For information on roles, visit the section Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles in this guide.
The AI Management permissions are automatically added to the default system admin roles, Administrator (N-central) and Superuser (N-sight).
However, custom roles do not automatically include AI management permissions.
If you are using a custom role, ensure the account has the Manage (N-central) or AI Manage (N-sight) permission assigned under Ecoverse Roles & Permissions.
Only users with this permission can access and manage AI Settings. Without AI management permissions, access to AI Settings is blocked even if N-zo is activated.
For information on roles, visit the section Set up N-zo > Enable N-zo access using roles in this guide.
With Manage permissions, you can access AI Settings in the AI Management section. When you select other options in this section, they display a “N-zo will be back soon” message.
These options are not yet available and will be enabled as additional capabilities are released.
