Add a Custom OID
The following table indicates the amount of information derived from the MIB, but to configure the SNMP check we would simply require the OID and Expected Value in addition to the Hostname/IP Address, Port and Community.
Source MIB |
CPQHLTH-MIB: Compaq Server Health Features |
||||||||||
SNMP object type |
cpqHeThermalCondition |
||||||||||
Description |
This value specifies the overall condition of the system's thermal environment |
||||||||||
OID |
1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.1.0 |
||||||||||
Expected Value |
|
To employ this OID in the Agent select Other in the drop-down product box and enter the following:
Name |
Compaq Server Health Thermal Condition |
OID |
1.3.6.1.4.1.232.6.2.6.1.0 |
Operation (check passes where Expected Value) |
= |
Expected Value |
2 |
As 2 is ok any other value may indicate the hardware is compromised in some fashion and this failure will be reported on the All Devices view and an Alert generated.
To avoid any OID identification problems, please exclude the leading period when entering an OID in the SNMP Check. For example, enter 1.2.3.4.5.6.7 not .1.2.3.4.5.6.7
