PRINTER-MIB
Color
Is a generic MIB file supported by a number of manufacturers and may be used to return information from the printer including toner levels etc.
Although this is generic MIB not all manufacturers use the same color designation, for example for some .1 may equate to black (including HP) while for others this may be cyan (Konica Minolta).
To determine the color assignation used by the printer manufacturer the SNMP request .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.12.1.1.4 (prtMarkerColorantValue) may be used with the table reference.
The following example shows the different results returned from an HP and Konica Minolta printer.

In the example OIDs below we have used the HP color designation:
Unit of Measurement
This OID returns the unit of measurement of the supply container/receptacle and can be used in determining the expected value to enter in the Check. For example if 19 is returned the toner volume will be expressed as a percentage.
prtMarkerSuppliesSupplyUnit |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.7.1.* |
i.e. 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.7.1.1 for the unit of measurement used for the black toner values. |

19 = percent |
Toner Levels
Where the prtMarkerSuppliesSupplyUnit is expressed as a percentage the maximum toner level is obviously 100. But where another unit of measurement is in use it would be useful to know the maximum capacity of the toner, so an appropriate threshold figure can be calculated with this information returned in the OID .1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8 (prtMarkerSuppliesMaxCapacity)

the printer knows that there is some supply/remaining space, respectively |
Additional OIDs
The following additional OIDs may be supported:
Fuser Kit |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.6 the maximum level |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.6 the current amount |
Image Transfer Kit |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.5 the maximum level |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.5 the current amount |
Document Feeder Kit |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.7 the maximum level |
1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.7 the current amount |
For the toner maximum, Fuser Kit, Image Transfer Kit, Document Feeder Kit and Maintenance Kit OID values there are special OID values:
-1 |
other and specifically indicates that the sub-unit places no restrictions on this parameter. |
-2 |
unknown. |
To avoid any OID identification problems, please exclude the leading period when entering an OID in the SNMP Check. For example, enter 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.6 not.1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.6
