N-sight RMM Troubleshooting
Error: Received an invalid response from ComServer on Mac

Description
- When connecting to a Mac device, viewer shows an error "Received an invalid response from ComServer".
- Logs shows the following snippets:
2020-02-05 13:13:30:904 -[BAAppDelegate onGatewayWaitingForPeer:] : Gateway connection waiting for peer connection...
2020-02-05 13:13:36:323 -[BAAppDelegate onBAServerSocketDidConnect:withSocket:] : Connected to Configurator!
2020-02-05 13:13:36:323 -[BAAppDelegate onBAServerSocketDidConnect:withSocket:] : Connected to Configurator!
Environment
- N-sight RMM
- Take Control
- Mac
Solution
- Received an invalid response from ComServer may result from either a communication issue or could be due to application failure.
- Ensure the communication is not filtered by a Firewall or 3rd party AV.
- Its recommended to update to the latest Mac Agent and reinstall Take Control.
- Refer to the links on how to uninstall and reinstall Take Control.
- Ensure to allow Take Control in Security & Privacy.
