Search for devices

To find a specific device or display a list of related devices on the N-sight RMM Dashboard, search for devices across Client, Site, Device, Description, Username and Operating System using the current filter options.

Use search to display devices that match your criteria, which is useful when you want to multi-select devices to perform an action on several devices at the same time. You can also use the status drop-down menu (for example All Devices, All Servers or All Workstations) to display the devices found using this criteria. To clear the search box click the clear filter button .

To search for devices:

  1. On the N-sight RMM Dashboard, select the Servers, Workstations or Mixed tab in the North-pane
  2. Enter the query in the Search box

The North-pane dynamically updates to display only devices matching the search term, with any corresponding entries highlighted.

Search tips

The Search function queries the Client, Site, device name, Description, Username (Workstation only) and Operating System columns when they are displayed in the North-pane. You can add or remove columns using the Columns drop-down.

Each page of the North-pane contains up to 50 devices and when you search, all devices are included, not just those on the current page. The information displayed in the North-pane is restricted to the current view and filter options. For example, if a specific Site is selected with the option to view Problem Servers, only problem Servers under that Site which match the search criteria are displayed. However if the filter was expanded, for example to All Servers and / or All Clients, any Servers registered against the Dashboard are returned.

Searching is case-insensitive and automatically uses wildcards at the front and end of the term, for example a search for pro will act like %pro% and match Windows 10 Professional, Windows Pro, WINPROXL5 or Marketing professionals workstation.

It is not possible to use Boolean search operators such as AND, OR, NOT or quotes in the search
