Delete channels

You can delete standard, private, and shared team channels that are not needed. A deleted channel can be restored within 30 days after it's deleted.

Cloud Commander enables you to delete channels for your managed tenants.

Requirements

  • You must be assigned the Microsoft Teams Writer role scoped to the tenants you want to manage.
  • To view and manage Microsoft Teams for a tenant, you must Request additional permissions for tenants for customer approval of the required Microsoft Teams permissions.

Delete channels

  1. In the left navigation, select Solutions > Microsoft Teams.
  2. If not already selected, use the global customer selector - Customers drop-down menu to select the customers you want to view data for.
  3. Filter or search to find a team and select the display name to view the team's details.
  4. Go to the Channels tab.

    The channels for the selected team displays.

  5. Select the checkbox for each channel you want to delete and select Delete channel.
  6. Review your selections and select Delete channel.

    Each selected channel is deleted and removed from the channel list. Refresh the page from the top of the dialog to see your changes.
