About Custom Reports

Have you ever received a question, let's say from sales or customers, and none of the stock reports provide the answer? Within minutes you can have those answers by building and generating a custom report.

Custom reports put you in charge of all your reporting tasks using Report Builder 3.0 and Report Manager with speed and grace.

Custom reports based upon older versions of Report Manager do not contain the latest fixes and updates. N-able recommends that you update your custom reports with every new version of Report Manager.

You will need to set up an account in Report Builder 3.0 before creating custom reports. If you are new to custom reporting, explore the key features of Report Builder first, and use the Custom Reports Checklist to get comfortable with creating custom reports.

Once you're up and running with custom reports, you will want to manage the various aspects of custom reporting, such as:

  • Filtering your view or searching for custom reports, sub-reports and report parts within the system.
  • Uploading custom reports, report parts, sub-reports.
  • Connecting directly to the Reports Library in the N-able Resource Center.
  • Reviewing and updating a template (RDL) file by uploading it again.
  • Editing the user interface controls.
