File System Space Check

Generate an Alert when the available free space on the file system at the selected volume drops below the configured threshold figure, percentage or absolute value (Bytes, Mbytes, Gbytes).

When a check is added or edited, the new settings are downloaded to the Agent the next time it communicates back to the N-sight RMM Dashboard and they are applied when the check runs after that.

Check configuration

Add

  1. On the N-sight RMM Dashboard North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab
  3. Click Add Check
  4. Select Add 24x7 >  File System Space Check
  5. Select the disk and configure Threshold. For example:
    • Alert Threshold: 25% An Alert is generated and a failure displayed on the Dashboard when the free space remaining falls below 25%
    • Alert Threshold: 5GB An Alert is generated and a failure displayed on the Dashboard when the free space remaining falls below 5GB

  6. To run an Automated Task when the Check fails, select Assign a Task after creating the Check. This option is not supported for all checks.
  7. Click OK to save and apply
  8. If you selected Assign a Task after creating the Check:
    1. Select the Automated Task script and select Next to configure. The following example is for Windows Automated Tasks. Other task options display for Linux and macOS devices.

    2. Enter any required Command Line parameters or Script parameters and select Next
    3. Set maximum permitted execution time for the script (optional)
    4. Select Finish to save and apply

Edit

  1. On the N-sight RMM Dashboard North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab in the South-pane
  3. Right-click the target Check and select Edit Check
  4. Configure the settings
  5. Click OK to save and apply

Delete

  1. On the N-sight RMM Dashboard North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab in the South-pane
  3. Right-click the target Check and select Delete Check
  4. Enter the password you used to sign into N-sight RMM to confirm removal
  5. Click OK to delete

View File System Space Check results

To view the check results:

  1. On the N-sight RMM Dashboard North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab in the South-pane
  3. Click the More Information link against the target File System Space Check

The More Information dialog shows the overall file system Capacity, the Used space and Free space values. The Space percentage displays when you hover over the Free space or Used space portion of the graph.
