Package Management Check

The Check monitors the package status on the device failing where the number of available, but not yet applied, updates exceeds the specified threshold and supports apt, yast,zypper and yum package management tools.

Only locally available information is used, the Check does not reload details about pending updates from external repositories.

Check configuration

Add

  1. On the All Devices view North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab
  3. Click Add Check
  4. Choose Add DSC Check > Package Management Check
  5. Enter the Alert when number of updates exceeds threshold figure and tick the Also include non critical updates (optional)

  6. To run an Automated Task when the Check fails choose Assign a Task after creating the Check
  7. Click OK to save and apply

Edit

  1. On the All Devices view North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab
  3. Select the target Package Management Check
  4. From the Check drop-down
  5. Click Edit Check (also available from the Check's right-click menu)
  6. Configure the settings
  7. Click OK to save and apply

Delete

  1. On the All Devices view North-pane, select the device
  2. Go to the Checks tab
  3. Select the target Package Management Check
  4. From the Check drop-down
  5. Click Delete Check (also available from the Check's right-click menu)
  6. Enter the password you used to sign into N-sight RMM to confirm removal
  7. Click OK to delete
