Managed Antivirus VIPRE Windows Service Check is showing the service has restarted constantly
From September 27th 2022 onward, devices that still use VIPRE Managed Antivirus may no longer be protected as definitions updates also stop from this date.
VIPRE will be removed from RMM entirely within the next few months.
We recommend, where possible, to migrate your VIPRE Protection Policies to Bitdefender Engine Protection Policies, and re-deploy MAV-BD Bitdefender in place of any current MAV-BD Vipre Engine deployments.

Environment
- N-sight RMM
- Managed Antivirus Vipre
Solution
- Open Services.msc > stop the following services
- Advanced Monitoring Agent service
- Managed Antivirus service
- Rename the Definitions folder to definitions_old
- C:\Program Files (x86 for 64bit)\Advanced Monitoring Agent\managedav
- Rename the Antimalware folder to antimalware_old
- C:\ProgramData\Managed Antivirus
- Restart the device
- Manually update Managed Antivirus. For more information, see How to manually update to Managed Antivirus - VIPRE definitions.
