Reset all multi-factor authentications for user
You can reset all multi-factor authentications (MFAs) for a user from the Users section or the Authentication Methods section.
When you reset all multi-factor authentications for a user, the user is required to re-register their MFA on their next login. Re-registering MFA deactivates a user's hardware OATH tokens and deletes the following authentication methods from the user: phone numbers, Microsoft Authenticator apps and software OATH tokens.
Reset user MFA from the user list
- On the , select Identity > Users.
- Use the global customer selector to choose the customers from where you want to select users.
- If the user list is empty or you can't find a specific user, refresh the page to show the most recent data.
- Select the checkbox for a user and select Reset all multi-factor authentications.
When multiple customers are selected in the global customer selector at the top of the dialog only options that apply to all selected customers display.
- When prompted, review the summary of your request, and confirm.
Reset user MFA from the user details
- On the , select Identity > Users.
- Use the global customer selector to choose the customers from where you want to select users.
- If the user list is empty or you can't find a specific user, refresh the page to show the most recent data.
- Filter or search to find the user you need, then select the user's name to view the details.
- On the Summary tab or the Authentication Methods tab, select Reset all multi-factor authentications.
When multiple customers are selected in the global customer selector at the top of the dialog only options that apply to all selected customers display.
- When prompted, review the summary of your request, and confirm.
Reset user MFA from the authentication methods list
- On the , go to Security > Authentication Methods.
- Use the global customer selector to choose the customers from where you want to select users.
- Select the checkbox for a user and select Reset all multi-factor authentications.
When multiple customers are selected in the global customer selector at the top of the dialog only options that apply to all selected customers display.
- When prompted, review the summary of your request, and confirm.
