Convert a mailbox

You can use Cloud Commander to perform the following types of mailbox conversions.

  • User mailbox to shared mailbox.
  • Shared mailbox to user mailbox.

Requirements

  • You must be assigned the Microsoft Exchange Online Writer role scoped to the tenants you want to manage.

Convert a mailbox

  1. In the left navigation, select Solutions > Exchange Online.
  2. Use the global customer selector to choose the customers you want to view data for.
  3. Select the checkbox for the mailbox you want to convert and select Convert mailbox.

  4. In the Convert mailbox dialog, confirm the type of mailbox you want to convert to and select Convert mailbox.

    The mailbox is converted, and the mailbox Type updates on the Exchange Online mailboxes list.
