How to uninstall then reinstall Managed Antivirus – BitDefender Engine

 

The reinstallation process for Managed Antivirus - Bitdefender Engine is controlled from the Dashboard, select the device in the north panel and disable Manage Antivirus(this will initiate the product's uninstaller) then simply re-enable Managed Antivirus for the computer to reinstall.

 

Uninstall Managed Antivirus – Bitdefender Engine

  1. Login to the Dashboard
  2. Right-click on the target device in the north panel of the Servers or Workstations and choose Edit Device from the context menu (this option is also available when double-clicking on the device, from the Server or Workstation drop-down or Edit menu).
  3. Select the Managed Antivirus tab
  4. Change the Setting: to Off (before actioning this change please check that Engine: Bitdefender)
  5. Click OK to save changes and begin the Managed Antivirus - Bitdefender Engine uninstall process
  6. Wait for the device’s Summary tab to show Managed Antivirus - Not Installed

 

Run VIPRE’s Managed Antivirus Uninstall Tool


If Managed Antivirus - VIPRE Engine was previously deployed on the device and the reinstallation is due to a Managed Antivirus - Bitdefender Engine installation failure, we would suggest running the VIPRE Removal Tool available from here to ensure that Managed Antivirus - VIPRE Engine was completely uninstalled.


Important: the VIPRE Removal Tool automatically forces a reboot every time it runs.


Once the device has restarted, login and remove the folowing Files and Folders to complete the clean uninstall of the Managed Antivirus - VIPRE Engine:

C:\ProgramData

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data (XP & 2003)

All ManagedAntivirus, Managed Antivirus and AntiMalware entries where present.

 



Reinstall Managed Antivirus – Bitdefender Engine
 

1.     Right-click on the target device in the north panel of the Servers or Workstations and choose Edit Device from the context menu (this option is also available when double-clicking on the device, from the Server or Workstation drop-down or Edit menu

2.     Select the Managed Antivirus tab

3.     Change the Setting: to On or Use Policy Setting (if set to On)

4.     Choose Engine: Bitdefender

5.     Select the Policy

6.     Click OK to save changes and begin the Managed Antivirus - Bitdefender Engine install process

7.     When installed the device’s Summary tab shows Managed Antivirus – Active and prompts for a reboot (if required).
