Mac Agent Check Alerting

Add or Edit Check Dialog

As well as configure the thresholds, the Add and Edit Check dialogs include the option to setup the Alerting behavior for each Check.

  1. Select the workstation in the North-pane of the Dashboard
  2. Go to the Checks tab
  3. Add Check
  4. Choose
      • Add 247
      • Add DSC Check
  5. Configure the Check
    1. Click Alert Settings
    2. Outage Alerts (sent when problem is reported with the Check)
        • Tick Email Alert
        • Tick SMS Alert
  6. Recovery Alerts (sent when Check problem is resolved)
        • Tick Email Alert
        • Tick SMS Alert
  7. OK to save and apply

Display Configured Alerts

We have included the option to enable Alert Columns to allow you to quickly and easily see the configured alerting behavior for each Check.

  1. Go to the Checks tab
  2. Click Alert Columns
  3. Tick the corresponding box to choose the alerting columns to display
    • Outage Email Alert
    • Outage SMS Alert
    • Recovery Email Alert
    • Recovery SMS Alert

To deselect any of the alerting column simply untick the corresponding box

Default Alert Settings

Rather than amend each Check's notification settings manually the Dashboard includes the facility to configure the default alerting behavior for newly added Checks.

  1. Alerts
  2. Alert Policy
  3. Workstation Alerts
  4. Tick the require Default Settings behavior against each Check
    • None
    • Outage Email Alert
    • Outage SMS Alert
    • Recovery Email Alert
    • Recovery SMS Alert
  5. OK to save and apply

Existing Checks

To roll these updated settings out to existing Checks and replace their current settings.

  1. Configure the Default Alert Settings (as above)
  2. Tick the Update box against Checks to update its alerting behavior
  3. OK to save and apply

Alert Routing

The Alert notifications are sent to the recipients configured in Alert RoutingSettings dialog available from

  1. Settings
  2. Alerts
  3. Settings
  4. Select the Entity in the left pane
  5. Enter the Email and / or SMS to use during Office Hours and Out of Office Hours
  6. Leave the recipient section blank if this Alert is not required
