Change the Connection Retries policy - Windows

Devices that have a history of communication problems (i.e. unstable internet connection) may generate excessive alerts. You can reduce the number of alerts generated by increasing the number of retries and retry interval used when the Advanced Monitoring Agent attempts to upload data to N-sight.

You can make this change directly in the Windows Advanced Monitoring Agent:

  1. Login to the Agent.
  2. Select Edit Agent Options > Connection Settings.
  3. Under If Comm's Error: Retry Policy, set the number of retries as well as the interval between retry attempts. By default this is set to:
    • Number of retries: 3
    • Retry interval: 10 seconds

See Getting Started: Adjusting Connection Settings for full information on configuring the Connection Settings.
