"The App You Are Trying To Install Isn’t A Verified App From Store” message In Windows 10 when attempting to install Take Control

Description

  • Attempting to install Take Control in Windows 10 results in the message "The App You Are Trying To Install Isn’t A Verified App From Store”

Solution

  • This results whenever Windows is told to install newly released software or an application from an unknown/new developer (such as N-able or GitHub).
  • This can be resolved by turning off app recommendations.
  • To turn off app recommendations in Windows 10:
  1. Open the Settings app by simultaneously pressing Windows logo and I keys (Windows + I) to quickly open Settings in Windows 10, or open the Start Menu and click the Settings icon to launch the same
  2. Navigate to Apps > Apps & features
  3. In the Installing apps section, select Turn off app recommendations option from the drop-down box
