Description

  • Many instances of BASupSrvcCnfg.exe present on Terminal Server with Take Control (N-able) installed

Environment

  • N-sight RMM
  • Take Control

Solution

  • By design, there is one instance of the BASupSrvcCnfg.exe process running for each logged on Terminal Server user.
  • The BASupSrvcCnfg.exe is responsible for interactions with the user, to present the session authorisation prompt (when configured to do so) and to provide chat functionality inside the Take Control (N-able) session
  • In a situation where multiple users are connect to the Terminal Server, it is expected that this process runs once for every logged in user
