Add Notifications

Cove Data Protection (Cove)'s Notification service is found in the Management section of Management Console.

To add a new notification:

1. Sign in to the Management Console using a SuperUser account. or an Administrator account
2. Navigate to Management > Notifications
3. Click Add Notification

4. Give the notification a recognizable Name

   

5. Select the Customer from the dropdown

6. In the Notification Rule section, select the trigger/event to activate an email notification
   

   • Backup status alert: Provides notifications on the status of your server, workstation, and M365 domain backups

   • Critical configuration change: Provides notifications and alerts you whenever an asset, such as a device, is deleted or modified, allowing you to respond and remediate quickly

7. In the Condition section, set the conditions which must be met for an email notification to be sent:

   1. Customers:
      1. All Customers - Devices of all customers will be notified

         New customers will be added automatically

      2. Selected Customers - Devices of selected customers will be monitored and notified

         New customers will not be included

         1. Use the dropdown list to check all Customers whose devices should be monitored for Backup status alert and Critical configuration change:

            

            

   2. Device Type:

      1. Select Servers and workstations, or Microsoft 365, or Servers, or Workstations as per your type of device

   3. Backup Status:
      1. Send a notification for backups which Failed
      2. Send a notification for backups which Completed with Errors
8. In the Send Email To section, configure the email settings:
   1. Begin typing or select the recipients who should receive the notification in the Internal Recipients field

      Only users belonging to the selected customer will be available to send the notification to

   2. The email Subject cannot be changed, this will dynamically generate the backup status, customer name and device name when each email is sent
   3. If the notification should begin monitoring straight away, ensure Notification is Active is On
9. Click Preview to view the Add notification fields

10. Click Save before closing the window

Preview

Based on the selected device type, it is possible to view a preview of the email that will be received when the conditions are met from either the Add Notification window, and the Edit Notification window.

This can be done by clicking the Preview button at the bottom of the Add or Edit window:

The preview will be displayed
