Assign devices to your DMA MDM Server

Using a customer's Apple Business Manager account, you can assign an individual device, or a device type, to your Device Management for Apple MDM server. This means that when an assigned device is automatically enrolled in Device Management for Apple, it is enrolled using the ABM Server token for your MDM server.

Assign a device type to an MDM Server

1. In the customer's Apple Business Manager account, select the user name > Preferences.
2. Select MDM Server Assignment.

   

3. Next to Default MDM Server Assignment, select Edit.
4. Find the target device type and use the drop-down to select an MDM server.

   

5. Select Save.

Assign a single device to an MDM Server

1. In the customer's Apple Business Manager account, select Devices.
2. Select the target device under Your Devices.
3. Select Edit MDM Server.

   

4. In the pop-up dialog, select Assign to the Following MDM and use the drop-down to select a server.

   

5. Select Continue.

   When the new device powers on for the first time, it uses the selected MDM server, and corresponding ABM Server token, to enroll in Device Management for Apple.
