Reboot an asset from Assets view

You can reboot an asset directly from the Assets view, opting to reboot immediately or by defining a reboot time along with a pop-up advisory for the asset end-user.

When you don't have the permissions to reboot a device, the Actions menu shows Reboot unavailable.

Reboot an asset from the Assets view Actions menu

  1. Navigate to the Assets view.
  2. (Optional) Select a custom view or apply a custom filter.
  3. Locate the target asset, and select the Actions menu.
  4. Choose Reboot.
  5. The Reboot dialog is displayed. Configure the required reboot settings;
  6. Reboot without warning

    1. Select the Reboot now without presenting a message checkbox to reboot immediately without showing a message. (Clear this checkbox if a Reboot timer is needed).

    Reboot with warning

    1. In the Configure reboot message section, enter a message for the end-user of the asset (maximum characters is 250).
    2. Select an appropriate Reboot timer duration from the drop-down menu. The Reboot message preview is shown to the right.
  7. When you are happy with the configured settings, select Reboot.

Reboot an asset from the Asset details overlay

  1. Navigate to the Assets view.
  2. (Optional) Select a custom view or apply a custom filter.
  3. Locate the target asset, and select the row (not a link in the row).
  4. The Asset details overlay opens from the right.
  5. Select the Actions menu.
  6. Choose Reboot.
  7. The Reboot dialog is displayed. Configure the required reboot settings;
  8. Reboot without warning

    1. Select the Reboot now without presenting a message checkbox to reboot immediately without showing a message. (Clear this checkbox if a Reboot timer is needed).
