Import a service template

Import service templates that were created on a another N-able N-central server or from another N-able N-central administrator. Service template files are in a compress XML file format.

For more information on saving service template XML file, see Export a service template.

When importing a service template that includes custom services based on Automation Manager Policies, the .ZIP file will include all associated Automation Manager Policies as well as the XML files for the custom services so that they are available when the template is associated to devices. When the .ZIP file is imported, the Automation Manager Policies and the custom services will automatically be uploaded at the same time as the template file. No further configuration in N-able N-central is required to be able to use the imported template.

  1. Click ConfigurationMonitoringService Templates and click Import.
  2. Click Browse and navigate to the file. The default export file name is ServiceTemplateExport.zip.
  3. Click Import Service Template.
  4. N-able N-central verifies that the service configuration is valid, the service template and its associated services are imported.

If you need to configure or update the imported service template due to a need for input from a custom property, the service template configuration page appears to make the changes. You can only save the imported service template once all issues are successfully resolved.

  5. Click OK.

N-able N-central imports the service template and it appears on the service templates page, ready for use on your devices.

If any issues arise with the services in a service template, they appear in the Service Templates with Issues tab. Click the tab to resolve any issues. The Service Template with Issues tab appears only when there are service templates that are invalid. If there are no issues with the service template(s), you will not see this tab.
