Create downtime maintenance window

Maintenance windows are programmed periods of time where devices with agents installed can be configured to automatically complete tasks for a number of N-able N-central features to a defined schedule.

Create a downtime maintenance window to take a device offline for scheduled maintenance. This ensures that services do not report errors from the agent because it is offline.

Device still receive maintenance such as patches while in a downtime maintenance window. The downtime only stops notifications from the device.

  1. Click Views > All Devices.
  2. Click the name of a device.
  3. Click the Settings tab, then Maintenance Windows.
  4. Click Add > Downtime.
  5. Enter a Name.
  6. Set the duration of the downtime for the device.
  7. Set the schedule when the maintenance window occurs and frequency.
  8. Click Save.

N-able N-central saves the downtime maintenance window. At the scheduled time, N-able N-central the device goes offline and work on the device can begin. After the duration the agent and services continue to monitor the device.
