- How to enable/disable Session Inactivity Timeout on Take Control?
Environment
- N-able Take Control/Take Control Plus (Standalone)
- N-able N-central
- Take Control
- N-sight RMM
- Take Control (N-able)
Solution
If you wish to disable the Session Inactivity Timeout:
- Start a new Take Control Session
- On the top right corner of the Viewer click on the vertical ellipsis icon
- Hover over Session Inactivity Timeout
- Click on Disabled
- Click on Save Current Settings as Default
If you wish to enable the Session Inactivity Timeout:
- Start a new Take Control Session
- On the top right corner of the Viewer click on the vertical ellipsis icon
- Hover over Session Inactivity Timeout
- Select a desired timeout value from the list
- Click on Save Current Settings as Default

You can also configure the Session Inactivity Timeout feature from the Admin Area:
- From the left navigation menu, select Profile > Identification and click the Security tab.
- In the Session timeout section of the window, click Disconnect sessions if idle: and specify a time from the list.
- Click Save to confirm the update.
Settings that are defined from the Admin Area supersede any session timeout settings configured locally from the Viewer during a remote session.
