Description

  • How to use Blank Screen?
  • How to sleep the display of the remote user?

Environment

  • N-sight RMM
    • Take Control (N-able)
  • N-able Take Control/Take Control Plus (Standalone)
  • N-able N-central

Solution

  1. Start a Take Control session to the device in question.
  2. Click on the Remote Desktop tab located on the top left corner of the Viewer's window.
  3. Click on the Commands submenu.
  4. Click Show Blank Screen (or use the Shift+Ctrl+N hotkey combination).

Blank screen functionality depends on the hardware configuration of the remote computer. Not all video cards, monitors, computer types, motherboards, or BIOS support the drivers used by Take Control to blank the remote screen. Where there is a hardware compatibility issue, the remote screen is not blanked and will continue to display content. Virtual Machines may experience issues, especially those with a high-refresh rate or the computer's power settings are set to lock windows on display sleep, for example, attempting to sleep the monitor will lock the user account

Please note that, within the standalone Take Control Plus product, End Users will not have access to this feature.
