Viewing Dashboard Notes from the Notes tab

Dashboard Notes are displayed in the Notes tab of the Dashboard and accessed either directly in this tab or when clicking the Note icon against a Device or Check. The age of the displayed notes is based on the Length of time to display notes threshold

Three icons are used to represent the available Note types under the Notes column notes and Notes tab:

note_technical Technical (private) Note
note_public Client Facing Notes
note_both Technical and Client Facing Notes

Notes Tab

  1. Select the device in the North-pane of the Dashboard
  2. Go to the Notes tab
  3. Navigate to the target note

North-pane

  1. Click the notes icon against a device in the North-pane of the Dashboard
  2. This opens the Notes tab filtered by device level notes for the Server or Workstation
  3. Clear the filter to view all notes recorded against the device

Checks Tab

  1. Click the notes icon against a Check in the North-pane of the Dashboard
  2. This opens the Notes tab filtered for this Check for the device
  3. Clear the filter filter-off to Show all notes recorded against the device

Select the length of time to display notes for in the Notes tab

  1. Go to Settings > General Settings > Notes
  2. Configure the Length of time to display notes in the Notes tab, up to a maximum of 999 days
  3. OK to save changes.

We do not delete notes for currently installed devices and they are displayed in the Notes tab based on the Length of time to display notes threshold. To view older notes in the Notes tab simply increase the number of days threshold (up to 999 days). To view all notes for the currently installed devices regardless of age open Notes Report available from the Reports menu.
