Setup the 24x7 and Daily Safety Checks
During the manual Windows Agent installation, you configure the 24x7 Checks - Windows Agent and Daily Safety Checks - Windows Agent . When a Monitoring Template is used, you can modify the existing thresholds or add additional Checks.
To edit Check settings after installation, select the Check in the Checks tab of the South-pane and click the Checks drop-down to select Edit Check.
24x7 Checks
24x7 Checks monitor the device around-the-clock at the frequency you select. A failure is generated whenever a problem is detected.
To enable 24x7 Checks in the Windows Agent during a manual install:
- In the 24x7 Checks dialog, tick the Activate the 24x7 Checks box
- Use the Frequency drop-down to select the 24x7 Check run cycle
- Click Configure checks to edit the Check settings
The Configure 24x7 Checks dialog displays.
- Configure the checks and select OK to return to the 24x7 Checks dialog

24x7 Check Frequency
Device type | Frequency option (Minutes) |
---|---|
Server | 5 | 15 | 30 | 60 | 120 |
Workstation | 5 | 15 | 30 | 60 | 120 |
When you select five or 15-minute monitoring for a workstation, the Agent synchronizes with the All Devices view based on the selected frequency to upload results, retrieve Automated Task and feature deployment settings and so on.
If you are using the five or 15-minute frequencies, a comparison with its previous result is made every time a check runs. If a change is detected, it is immediately reported to the All Devices view (only the results are uploaded and a full synchronization is not triggered). If no change is detected, the check results are uploaded during the next synchronization upload cycle.
Daily Safety Checks (DSC)
Daily Safety Checks run once a day and are designed to monitor scheduled tasks, backups, antivirus updates, and more.
Daily Safety Checks run based on the local time of the computer where the Agent is installed.
To enable Daily Safety Checks during a manual install:
- In the Daily Safety Checks dialog, tick the Activate the Daily Safety Checks (DSC) box
- Use the Frequency drop-down to select the Check run hour
Checks — to avoid false positives, ensure the Daily Safety Checks run after the monitored tasks are complete
Reports — to avoid messages about today's data not available against Checks in the Server or Workstation Daily or Weekly Reports, we recommend you run the Daily Safety Checks before the Reports run time - Click Configure checks where changes are required
The Configure Daily Safety Checks dialog displays.
- Configure the checks and select OK to return to the Daily Safety Checks dialog
- Select Next
Ensure the active tick box is enabled for the checks in the category to run. If this is not enabled, the Checks will not run.
