Configure 24x7 Script Check Alert suppression

Monitoring the performance of a 24x7 Script Check is important, however not every failure is necessarily an immediate cause for concern.

In such circumstances, it may be appropriate to configure Alert Suppression to set the number of consecutive failures before any 24x7 Script Check are reported as failed and an Alert generated.

The number of consecutive failures before a Script Check is reported as failed is configured in the Dashboard and can be set globally across the Client base or for individual Devices.

Once configured, a 24x7 Script Check failure below the threshold is reported as a soft failure (yellow tick) and Alerts are not sent.

Where the 24x7 Script Check continues to fail, and subsequently exceeds the threshold, it is reported as failed (red exclamation box) and Alerts are sent (depending on the configured Alerting behavior for the Check).

Configuring Alert Suppression across the client base

  1. Go to Settings > Alerts > Alert Policy
  2. ChooseServer Alert Thresholds or Workstations Alert Thresholds
  3. Select the number of Consecutive Failures for the Script Check from the drop-down.
  4. OK to apply

Configuring Alert Suppression for an individual device

  1. Select the Device in the North-pane of the Dashboard
  2. Right-click on the Device or from the Server or Workstation drop-down
  3. Choose Edit Server or Edit Workstation
  4. Select Alert Policy
  5. Choose the number of Consecutive Failures for the Script Check from the Check Parameters drop-down
  6. OK to apply
