Create a configuration profile using an app
There are a range of resources and applications you can use to create Apple configuration profiles. The following are two example resources:
- Automation Cookbook
- Apple Configurator 2 — see Create and edit configuration profiles from Apple's support website
After you create a configuration profile, you upload it to the Profile Library in Device Management for Apple (DMA). Depending on the payload and selection, profiles may be supported on both macOS and iOS devices.
You can add multiple payloads to one configuration profile, but when you update one payload in the configuration profile, all other associated payloads are affected. We recommend you create separate profiles based on function, or for frequently and infrequently changed settings.
