Download the Remote Support Viewer

Download the Remote Support Viewer onto the machine providing assistance using the N-sight RMM Dashboard Remote Access menu.

Deploy the Remote Support Agent

You can send the Remote Support Agent to the user in an email containing the download link and the executable in a compressed format, or in an email containing the download link only. You can also copy the link location and send that to the user using another delivery method, for example instant messaging.

Mail Templates

You configure the Remote Support Agent email using the N-sight RMM Dashboard Mail Templates menu to access the Remote Support Link Only and Remote Support Link and Attachment templates.

You can configure Mail Templates to ensure the email notifications match your requirements. In the Mail Templates, you can edit the From address, the Subject line, and the content in the Body (plain text and HTML) of the email using the N-sight RMM Dashboard Mail Templates menu.

The following substitution strings are available for the Remote Support - Link Only and Remote Support - Link and Attachment Mail Templates:

SPF Records and the Allowed List

Changes to the template From address, for example to an email address from your domain, can result in the email being classified as coming from a spoofed domain.

To avoid this situation, we recommend you create an SPF record in your domain DNS pointing to our mail generating servers. For more information on spoofed emails and SPF, see SPF Records.

To avoid potential delivery problems, if you retain the default email From address, we recommend you allow our email generating servers IP addresses. For more information, see Allow mail server IP Addresses.

From Address Format

The N-sight RMM Dashboard supports the use of commas as separators when you configure multiple email recipients. If the From address contains a descriptive name with a comma, or the possibility of a comma when using substitution strings, we recommend you encapsulate the name in inverted commas " ". For example:

  • "Descriptive, name" <my@address.rmm>
  • "#ACCOUNT#" <my@address.rmm>
  • "#CLIENT#" <my@address.rmm>
