Create Products and Product Categories

The integration supports the mapping of N-sight RMM devices to their equivalent entities in Autotask, and the creation of new Configuration Items in Autotask.

For a successful integration, ensure the required products and product categories are setup in Autotask for Servers, Workstations and Network Devices.

  • Product Categories: categories or sub-categories that organize the list of products your company sells or supports.
  • Products: hardware or software items your company sells or supports.

To configured Products and Product Categories in Autotask:

  1. On your Autotask console, hover over the menu icon in the top left and select Admin > Features & Services
  2. Expand Products, Services, & Inventory

Products

  1. Select Products
  2. Search for the target product, if it does not exist:
    1. Click New
    2. Enter the Product Name and Material Code (both required)
    3. Populate the other fields (optional)
    4. Click Save & Close or Save & New to return to open a New Product dialog and add another product

Product Categories

  1. Select Product Categories
  2. If the required product category does not exist:
    1. Click New
    2. Enter the category Name (required)
    3. Populate the other fields (optional)
    4. Click Save & Close or Save & New to return to open a New Product Category dialog and add another product category
