Add Service Plan

To add a Service Plan to a Program Level:

1. At the Program Level step of the MSP Manager setup wizard, select Add Service Plan

   

2. In the Add Service Plan dialog, select one of the available service types and configure it to meet your billing requirements, or select Custom to create a new service type

   

3. If you selected Custom, use the following Service Type configuration settings section to add the new custom service type
4. Select Save Service

Service Type configuration settings

Using the information below, enter the required information for the custom service type:

Field	Description
Service Type	Hourly — Example: I charge by the hour
	Flat Fee — Example: I offer a flat-fee service, like all-you-can-eat support, off-site backup or remote monitoring
	Project — Example: I do project-based work for one-time projects. I either quote the customer a fixed fee or I charge for actual time spent.
	Hour Retainer — Example: I sell blocks of hours at a certain hourly rate for a specified period of time
Plan Name	Enter a name for the Service Plan. Depending on the Service Plan Description, the Plan Name may appear in the invoice.
Contract start date	Select when the contract for the Service Plan comes into effect
Contract does not expire	Check if the contract does not have an end date
Contract duration	Enter the number of months if the Service Plan contract is for a specific length of time
Status	Enable Active to enable the Service Plan for the program and choose whether to include this as a Default Service Plan
Billing	The available billing options depend on the selected Service Type. For more information, see Service Type specific options.
Service Plan Description	Enter the text to display in the invoice for this Service Plan. If you leave the this blank, the invoice displays the Service Plan's Plan Name.
Invoice options	If you tick Create detailed invoices, invoices show detailed line items for each ticket and time entry. If you do not tick the option, invoices only show the Service Plan and totals.

Service Type specific options

Flat Fee Billing Period Choose the billing frequency for the service plan. Unit Price Enter the per-unit amount charged for each billing period. Quantity The Number of Items to invoice for. Enter the quantity or Use Asset Count. Total amount to invoice for this Service Plan over the billing period is Quantity x Unit Price. Additional Rates Create any extra rates that are available for this Service plan. Please Note: Additional Rates must be configured before they are available for selection. Add a New Rate Enter the New Rate Name and New Rate.

Project Project Estimate Total estimated cost of the project. Estimated Hours Projected number of hours the project will take to complete. Bill for Opt to bill for the Actual Hours or Project Estimate. Default Rates When Actual Hours is selected, this is the default hourly rate charged for this Service Plan. Additional Rates Additional hourly rates you can charge for this Service Plan. Create any extra rates that are available for this Service Plan. Please note, Additional Rates must be configured before they are available for selection. Add a New Rate Enter the New Rate Name and New Rate.

Hourly Billing Period Choose the billing frequency for the Service Plan. Default Rates Default hourly rate charged for this Service Plan. Additional Rates Additional hourly rates you can charge for this Service Plan. Create any extra rates that are available for this Service Plan. Please note, Additional Rates must be configured before they are available for selection. Add a New Rate Enter the New Rate Name and New Rate.

Hour Retainer Retainer Period Choose the billing frequency for the Service Plan. Retainer Amount Contracted amount for the Retainer Period. Retainer Hours Contracted number of hours for the Retainer Period. Base Rate Hourly base rate charged for the Service Plan. Calculated from the Retainer Amount and Retainer Hours specified in the above Billing section. Overage Rate Hourly rate applied for work carried out over the Retainer Hours for the billing period.
