Description

  • Checks are not reporting in to the dashboard
  • The Agent checks in with a device but the dashboard checks are not updating
  • Checks appear to be running fine on the Agent locally
  • The agent settings.ini file is not showing any site concentrator as failing
  • The Agent Communication URLs are accessible
  • The fmplugin settings.ini file is blank
    • The settings.ini file is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Advanced Monitoring Agent\fmplugin

Environment

  • N-sight RMM
  • FMPlugin

Solution

  1. Rebuild the FMPlugin settings.ini file using data from the agent settings.ini.
    1. Search for each item in FMPlugin settings.ini matches agent settings.ini and ensure the same data is copied
      • Use the following as a template/example but check the FMPlugin settings.ini on selected device to ensure log entries match
        • [Legacy]
          UploadServerProtocol=https
          UploadServer=.systemmonitor.co.uk/
          DeviceId=123456

          [Main]
          GUID=621231cff446dsfg4a95d12231
          664c1f12cd
          Territory=eu
        • Note: For the UK territory should be eu
  2. End the FMPlugin.exe process and then restart the Advanced Monitoring Agent Service. This will restart the fmplugin.exe.
    • To start/restart processes:
    1. Type Windows + R to open the Run command
    2. Type services.msc
    3. Right-click the desired service
    4. Select Start/Restart/Stop as necessary
  3. Recreate distribution point if Agent was installed via Group Policy and FMPlugin is empty
  • Creating the site installation package from the server agent creates a corrupt package.zip (3MB in size). When create the site installation from the dashboard the package.zip is correct (20MB in size) so customer should redeployed the application via GPO using the new site installation package.
