ERROR: Too many MX Resource Records when checking SPF record

Description

• I use Mail Assure for outbound mail
• When I check the SPF record I get the error: Too many MX resource records

Environment

• Mail Assure

Solution

• Mail Assure does not use the inbound filtering hosts to send mail
• The outbound servers are listed on the SPF record: spf.mtaroutes.com
• When configuring your SPF record for Mail Assure:
  • Add: include:spf.mtaroutes.com
  • Remove: mx
• If mail for your domain will only be sent through Mail Assure your SPF record should be: v=spf1 include:spf.mtaroutes.com -all
