Enable Recovery Testing

Devices cannot be added to a Recovery Testing plan if already assigned to a Standby Image plan.

From Main Dashboard

To enable Recovery Testing on a device from the Management Console's main Dashboard, follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the Management Console under a SuperUser or Manager account
  2. Select the device(s) you wish to assign a plan to using the checkboxes to the left of the device name
  3. From the beta Dashboard, click Assign recovery testing plan from the Toolbar

From the classic Dashboard, click Assign then Recovery Testing plan

  4. In the Assign recovery testing plan window, choose which plan to assign:
    • Biweekly (every 14 days)
    • Monthly (every 30 days)
    • These use Virtual Disaster Recovery capabilities to automate the recovery, boot testing and screenshot creation of your devices using our environment.

    • No plan

Assigning No plan will remove any previously assigned recovery testing plan from the device

  5. Click Continue
  6. Confirm the compatibility of devices and click Next
  7. Enter the Encryption Key/Security Code or Passphrase for the device(s). This can be either:
    • Private encryption key - Created by yourself when installing Backup Manager on the device. If you have lost the encryption key/security code for the device, you will need to Convert devices to passphrase-based encryption
    • Passphrase encryption - These are generated on demand for automatically installed devices. You can find information on this here

  8. If you are logged in as a security officer, this will be detected automatically.

  9. Click Next to progress to the Recovery testing report view to enter one or more email addresses to receive the report (separate multiple email addresses using a comma or semi-colon)

If you do not want a report to be emailed, you can skip this by clicking Skip this step at the bottom

  10. Select Next to enable the plan on the selected devices
  11. You will now see the status of the plan has changed to Completed and the banner shows the number of devices added to the plan.
  12. Click Finish to complete the process
