Cove Data Protection (Cove) offers a backup and recovery service for Microsoft 365 workloads. The service handles full Microsoft 365 Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams backups so you can recover data long after it is cleaned or lost from Microsoft databases.
Cove relies on tenant access to Microsoft 365, where each Microsoft 365 tenant is added to the Management Console as a workload, which may include multiple domains.
- All domains belonging to the same Microsoft 365 tenant are automatically enumerated by Cove.
- Users whose primary email address or alias address exist on additional domains within the same tenant are automatically discovered and available for protection.
- Onboarding a new domain to an existing Microsoft 365 workload does not require the creation of a separate Microsoft 365 workload on the Management Console Dashboard.
- New domains can be added to existing Microsoft 365 tenants by adding new Users or Sites to the selection.
All backed up data is encrypted during the backup process and the Encryption Key/Security Code is securely stored in the cloud.
Software-Only partners can create Microsoft 365 workloads but will use N-able storage nodes.

The Backup schedule cannot be changed for Microsoft 365 protection. Backup runs up to 4 sessions a day for OneDrive and SharePoint, or up to 6 sessions a day for Teams and Exchange.
Requirements
The following account types are required:
- A user account for the Management Console at the following user level:
- SuperUser
- Administrator
- Manager
- Operator
- The Security Officer role assigned to the above user account.
- A Global administrator account for the Microsoft 365 tenant.
