Assign Microsoft Entra ID roles to users

Use Cloud Commander to add Microsoft Entra ID role assignments to users.

Assign Microsoft Entra ID roles to a user

  1. On the left navigation, select Identity > Users.
  2. If not already selected, use the global customer selector - Customers drop-down menu to select the customers from where you want to select users.

    If the user list is empty or you can't find a specific user, refresh the page to show the most recent data.

  3. Filter or search to find the user you need, then select the user's name view the details.

  4. Go to the Roles tab and select the Microsoft Entra Roles tab. See the Microsoft documentation for all the Microsoft Entra built-in roles.

    When multiple customers are selected in the global customer selector at the top of the dialog only options that apply to all selected customers display.

  5. Select Add assignments.
  6. Select the checkboxes for the roles you want to assign and select Next.
  7. Review your selections. If you need to make changes, select Back. Otherwise, select Confirm.
  8. Select Done.

The roles are assigned to the user, and the roles display in the user's details on the Roles - Microsoft Entra Roles tab.
