Solution

  1. Ensure restored VM is turned off
  2. Create new virtual switch
    1. Select VM in Hyper-V Manager
    2. In Actions pane (right-hand side) select Virtual Switch Manager
    3. Virtual Switches > select New virtual network switch
    4. Select External > Create Virtual Switch
    5. Name switch
    6. Select External network and choose available NIC from dropdown > OK
      • Make sure to check Allow management operating system to share this network adapter if selected NIC is main or only NIC for system
  3. Add new virtual switch to VM
    1. Select VM in Hyper-V Manager
    2. In Actions pane (right-hand side) select Settings
    3. Hardware > Network Adapter
    4. Select newly-created adapter virtual switch from dropdown > OK
  4. Boot VM
