Patch Details Report
Configure N-able N-central Dependencies prior to running any reports.
This report provides detailed patch information for one or more customers within a specified time period. You can group the report contents to list patches for each device, or devices associated with each patch.
You can run this report to show your customers those devices under patch management, devices not under patch management, or both.
Features of this report
You can run this report for an entire SO, multiple or individual customers. To select multiple customers, press and hold down the Ctrl key, and then click each customer that you want to select.
If you want the report to include information about the status of one specific or multiple patches for your devices, you can use the following two parameters:
- Include Keywords
- Exclude Keywords
The intent is to allow a multiple keyword search that will list in the report those patches matching (or partially matching) the KB number or title.
For example, let's say you want to know if "Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB3023219)" was installed. You can specify to include the KB number, or any part of the title, as keywords. Or, if you know that this patch was installed, you can specify to exclude the KB number, or any part of the title, as keywords.
Separate the keywords by a semicolon (;).
The report header will include two additional lines, one each for Include Keywords and Exclude Keywords.
In the body of the report, device class names are pre-pended by the customer name.
Two different layouts are available for the report:
- Group information by device name
- Group information by patch status
Definitions
The report contains the following terms:
- Publish Date: This is the date that the patch was released from Microsoft.
- Approval Change Date: This is the last date that a N-able N-central user or Automatic Approval Rule modified the patch approval status.
- Status Change Date: This is the date the patch completed the patch installation action on the device.
Export format, Start Date, and End Date selected on the report generation screen do not apply to scheduled reports. You will select these for each schedule.
