KBA45004: Timeout Error when adding a data source

Introduction

During addition of a data source you may receive a Timeout Error.

Resolution

Ensure that the following ports are open:

  • Port 1433, in order for Report Manager to configure the Data Export and
  • Port 80 (HTTP) and 443 (if configured to use HTTPS) for communication from Report Manager to N-central.

You can test this via the N-central Administration Console using the Test TCP Port Connectivity tool.
