Learn about the Knowledge MCP

The Knowledge MCP provides N-zo with access to N-able's User Guides, Knowledge Base, blog, and more. It uses specialized guidance, explanation, and scripting tools, selecting the appropriate one to answer your question.

Guidance

Guidance supports task-based questions and provides step-by-step instructions for completing actions in N-able products, such as configuring a policy, setting up a device, or following a process from start to finish.

Where data comes from

Example questions to ask N-zo

  • "How do I set up automated patch approval?"

  • "What are the steps to onboard a new customer?"

  • "How can I enable debug logging in Cove?"

Explanation

Explanation supports understanding‑based questions, helping users grasp features, concepts (e.g. what a feature does, what a term means, or how two things differ).

Where data comes from

CAT-MIP (Consortium for AI Terminology for MSPs & IT Pros) is a vendor-neutral industry standard that gives AI agents and MCP servers a shared language, helping them understand requests clearly and take consistent actions across MSP and IT tools. Read the N-able announcement introducing CAT-MIP.

Example questions to ask N-zo

  • "What is N-sight RMM?"

  • "What's the difference between a site and a customer in N-central?"

  • "Explain howLocalSpeedVault in Cove works."

Scripting (Experimental)

Scripting supports automation-focused questions. It draws on the N-able Developer Portal to surface scripts, recipes, and API examples. This is the most experimental response type, so results may vary.

Where data comes from

Example questions to ask N-zo

  • Can you find a script to restart a service remotely?

  • Show me an automation recipe for disk space alerts.

  • Can I add a device via API in Cove?

Always check the sources.

Review the sources N-zo used to generate the answer. For Scripting responses, N-zo includes a direct link to the Developer Portal recipe if available, making it easy to verify the script.
