Description
- This article will help with signing N-able N-central with a single domain certificate.
- For other configuration options, see Add-an-SSL-certificate-to-my-N-able-N-central-server.
Environment
- All supported Versions of N-able N-central
Solution
- Generate and download a Certificate Signing Request:
- Log in to your N-able N-central UI using the Product Administrator account, and stay at the System Level.
- Go to Administration > Certificate Management > Generate and Download Certificate.
- Fill in all the details for your certificate. You must fill out all fields on this form, or the certificate signing request may not generate. Please note that you MUST use a Fully Qualified Domain Name, not an IP address, as only FQDNs can be signed.
- Click Generate.
- NOTE: You will be logged out of your N-able N-central server during this process. This is expected, and due to the webserver needing to restart as part of the CSR generation process.
- Please wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow the certificate signing request to generate.
- Log back in as Product Administrator, stay at the System level.
- Go to Administration > Certificate Management > Generate and Download Certificate.
- Click Download to download the new CSR as nable.csr OR copy/paste the contents of the text box into a new file.
- Submit your CSR file to your CA:
- If asked, advise the CA that your server is Apache/Tomcat.
- Obtain any intermediate and root certificates from your CA. These may be provided as a bundle.
