Find the MDM management enrollment profile on a device

When you enroll a device in Device Management for Apple (DMA), the device receives an MDM management enrollment profile from N-central. This profile associates the device with your N-central instance and allows N-central to manage it.

Use this profile to:

  • Confirm that the device is enrolled and managed by N-central
  • Identify the MDM server name

  • Identify the Topic

  • Provide details to Support for troubleshooting

This enrollment profile applies to devices enrolled using:

  • Automated Device Enrollment (ADE)
  • Manual device enrollment

When enrollment is complete, the device appears in the DMA Devices list in N-central .

Find the MDM management enrollment profile on an Apple device

The steps to find the MDM management enrollment profile depend on the device type and operating system version.

  1. Locate the MDM managment enrollment profile in your device settings.
    • On macOS, look for Device Management.
    • On iOS or iPadOS, look for VPN & Device Management.

    If you cannot find these options, use the Settings search field and search for profiles or device management.

  2. Open the management profile associated with your organization. Review the profile details to confirm the connection to your MDM service.
  3. Look for values such as:
    • Server or server URL
    • Topic or identifier
    • Certificate information
    • Enrollment or check-in details

    These details help confirm that the device is managed and connected to the expected service.

    If the profile is present and the details match, the device is enrolled and N-central is actively managing it.

    If no MDM enrollment profile is visible, the device is not enrolled, or enrollment did not complete successfully.

    If the profile is present but the MDM server name does not match your N-central configuration, the device may be enrolled with a different MDM solution or associated with the wrong N-central instance.
