SSH service

N-able N-central monitors the availability of a SSH daemon on a network device. SSH is a shell program for logging into and executing commands on a remote computer. It provides strong authentication and secure communications over a vulnerable connection. It also provides a UNIX shell augmented with a range of cryptographic options.

N-able N-central determines the up or down status of the SSH service. The SSH service does not use the Warning state. N-able N-central averages the availability of the SSH service over the scan interval. It compares the availability of the SSH service to the threshold to determine the status.

Validation String	The response you expect to receive from the queried port. If queried port does not return the validation string that you specify, the service transitions to a Failed state. The default validation string is SSH.

If an IP address has been specified, the service checks only the IP address's format. If the format is correct, the state will be Normal. Otherwise, it will be Failed, based on the default settings.
