The Executive Summary report

The Executive Summary report in Report Manager is the most useful report for you and your customers. It bundles many of the Managed IT Services reports, and provides a summary of all IT activity for the selected period using a unique dashboard style "glance-and-know" graphics, presenting complex key performance information in a visually pleasing fashion. It use a scorecard format so executives can get the gist of the report in seconds, often with little or no explanation required.

To access the report, click Reports > Report Manager > Managed IT Services > Executive Summary Report.

The Executive Summary report is almost infinitely configurable. The three most useful configurations are:

IT level

This is the simplest setting for the report:

  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select at least one service.
  3. Uncheck the Include checkbox for any areas that the customer does not require.
  4. Accept the other defaults.

This creates an moderately detailed IT Level report of between 10 and 15 pages, including scorecards for each area, and summary sections for areas that need attention

Executive level

For a more succinct Executive Level report:

  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select at least one service.
  3. Uncheck the Include checkbox for any areas that the customer does not require.
  4. Set Auto-Add Summaries Failing A Score Of to "0".

This will restrict the report to scorecards for each area. This will make the report about 3-4 pages long.

CIO level

For a more exhaustive CIO level report, showing full details of specific areas:

  1. Select the customer.
  2. Select at least one service.
  3. Uncheck the Include checkbox for any areas that the customer does not require.
  4. Scroll through the settings and select Advanced Settings for areas of interest. This was open more configuration options. All configuration settings have explanatory help text buttons.
  5. For each area of interest select Include Summary and Include Details.
  6. To exclude an area from the report, unselect the Include checkbox.
  7. The CIO version of this Report can be up to 40 pages in length depended on the areas selected.
  8. Select the format in which you want this report generated. The formats available will depend on whether or not report contains graphics.
  9. Click Generate Report.

Report Manager generates the report and displays it on the screen in the selected format. For further details on using the configuration settings, see the Report Manager online help.
