Lock Remote Control settings
Lock remote control settings to prevent users or technicians from changing how they connect to a device.
Locking is hierarchical. When a higher‑level account locks a setting, a lower‑level account cannot unlock it. For example, a Default Administrator can unlock a setting locked by a Customer Admin. A Customer Admin cannot unlock a setting locked by a Default Administrator.
To lock remote control settings:
- Select Views > All Devices.
- Select the device name, for which you want to lock remote control settings for. The Device details page opens.
- Select Remote Control Settings.
-
In each sub‑tab, find the setting you want to lock and select the Open lock icon.
-
The icon changes to a Closed lock, indicating the setting is locked and can't be changed.
-
- Select Save.
Users with lower privileges than the administrator who applied the setting can't modify or unlock it.
